About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Dementia Nurse to join our team in Argyll & Bute. This new post will play a pivotal role in enhancing dementia care across care homes in the region, working collaboratively with care home teams, families, and wider health and social care professionals.
You will provide specialist clinical advice, support education and training, and lead on quality improvement initiatives to ensure residents living with dementia receive the highest standard of care.
1. Registered Nurse (Mental Health or Adult) with current NMC registration
2. Significant experience in dementia care, ideally within care homes or community settings
3. Strong communication, leadership, and teaching skills
4. Ability to work independently across a geographically diverse area
5. Commitment to person-centred, rights-based approaches to dementia care
6. Educated to degree level, preferably a related discipline or be able to evidence equivalent experience.
7. The post holder will have additional knowledge gained through formal training to masters degree or equivalent recent experience or a combination of formal training, recent experience, relevant short courses or self-study.
8. In depth knowledge/understanding of Dementia and the challenges which would be gained through experience.
