Data Scientist – London – 12 Month Contract (40 hours per week) - £550 - £595 per day (Inside IR35) – DV Clearance
Our client are a medium sized defence consultancy looking for a Data Scientist to join their team.
You'll be joining a small, highly skilled technical team working on a live AI computer vision capability within a secure defence environment. The team focuses on sustaining and enhancing a production system, delivering incremental improvements and new use cases rather than experimental or research-based work.
The client is specifically looking for a DV-cleared Data Scientist with strong Python skills, proven experience supporting AI or computer vision models in production, hands-on MLOps experience (MLflow, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes), familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab or Jenkins, and a solid understanding of data engineering concepts including ETL and scalable data pipelines.
Working Patterns and location – This role is based full time on site.
The Key Responsibilities of a Data Scientist:
Maintain and optimise a live AI computer vision capability operating in a production environment.
Support and sustain an existing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) AI model.
Enhance the solution through ongoing development, adding new features and use cases.
Ensure all AI solutions comply with required security, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Deliver resilient, maintainable, and scalable AI systems suitable for long-term use.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for a Data Scientist, however you will not be expected to have everything:
Strong Python programming skills for building and supporting production AI solutions.
Hands-on experience with ML engineering and MLOps tools such as MLflow, Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Experience using CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab or Jenkins) to automate build and deployment processes.
Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including ETL processes, data warehousing, and data streaming.
Experience designing or working with scalable, cloud-native system architectures and data pipelines.
