We are seeking a head of service role in the Housing and Communities Directorate to oversee the Strategic Services unit.
The job purpose is to lead and manage the Strategic Services Unit, which includes the commissioning and contract management of cultural services, providing leadership to the voluntary and cultural sector in development of city wide initiatives, growth and strategies, leading change management programmes and major capital projects to increase access to culture, leisure, tourism, heritage and learning.
Direct operational management of community assets including children centres, transforming services via collaboration and co‑production with communities to increase community capacity and social action with the aim of community asset transfer.
Leading a small team of programme managers you will be responsible for a variety of areas including:
* Development and management of a programme of projects including the Future Libraries Investment programme, reviewing service delivery models, leading change, sport and physical activity funding and capital projects.
* Contract and relationship management – supporting the monitoring and development of service delivery contracts.
* Facilities management – operating, management and development of community assets.
The role is a hybrid role, with flexibility to work from home, West Offices and project sites. This role requires someone who is relationship driven and can work with multiple partners to seek solutions, identify joint benefits and drive outcomes.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
