Overview
Assistant Principal Designer Job in Edinburgh for a candidate looking to develop a specialist career in CDM and Health & Safety within the construction sector. This role supports the delivery of Principal Designer duties across a range of UK construction projects while building experience in CDM 2015 compliance, risk management and project coordination. Suitable for someone with 2 to 3 years' experience in architecture, architectural technology or construction consultancy who wants to transition into a dedicated CDM and Health & Safety career. The position begins office-based for training before moving to hybrid working following probation.
Responsibilities
* Support Principal Designer duties across construction projects
* Assist with CDM 2015 compliance throughout project stages
* Coordinate with design teams on safe design principles
* Prepare risk registers, reports and project documentation
* Support collaboration between design, delivery and project teams
Skills & Experience
* 2 to 3 years construction or design industry experience
* Knowledge of CDM 2015 and Health & Safety legislation
* Architecture, architectural technology or construction background
* Strong communication within multidisciplinary project teams
* Interest in long-term CDM and Health & Safety career
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
* Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
* Employment Type: Permanent
* 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays
