Senior Social Worker - Duty & Assessment Team (Worcestershire)

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our crucial Duty & Assessment Team. This fast-paced environment requires a dedicated professional with excellent assessment and decision-making skills.
About the Role:
Respond to urgent referrals and conduct initial assessments of children and families, identifying immediate needs and risks.Make critical decisions regarding the safety and well-being of children, ensuring appropriate interventions are implemented promptly.Engage with families, building rapport and understanding to collaboratively develop solutions.Work effectively under pressure, managing a demanding workload and prioritizing urgent cases.Complete detailed and accurate records, adhering to statutory guidelines and timescales.Supervise and mentor junior social workers, providing guidance and support in a high-pressure environment.Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Registered with Social Care England.Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified Social Worker. Significant experience in a duty and assessment role or similar fast-paced environment is highly desirable.Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills. Experience working with children at risk of significant harm is essential.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Commitment to child-centered practice and safeguarding.
