JOB SUMMARY

As a member of the EMEA Learning and Development team, the Senior Manager, Learning and Development will serve as the primary point of contact for all learning and development initiatives supporting continent office associates across EMEA. This role is responsible for identifying, designing, and delivering programs that enhance capability, develop leadership, and drive performance.

The Senior Manager plays a critical role in embedding Marriott’s values and business philosophy through learning experiences that align with strategic business priorities. The role partners closely with discipline leaders and HR stakeholders to assess learning needs, co-create solutions, and ensure successful implementation of initiatives.

A key focus will be to develop scalable leadership and functional learning solutions, support associate engagement and career development, track the impact of learning programs, and provide insights through regular reporting dashboards. This position also plays an important role in supporting a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

1. Conduct comprehensive learning needs analyses to identify performance gaps and development opportunities, aligned to current and future business goals.
2. Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and stakeholder consultations to gather insights and secure buy-in for learning initiatives.
3. Partner with discipline and functional leaders to prioritize learning and development needs and define success outcomes.
4. Design, develop, source, and implement impactful, innovative, and scalable learning solutions that align with Marriott’s culture and business strategy.
5. Provide strategic guidance on learning approaches, instructional design methodologies, learning technologies, and platforms.
6. Develop engaging instructional content across multiple formats, including in-person, virtual instructor-led, eLearning, microlearning, and blended learning.
7. Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with business needs.
8. Monitor and refresh existing programs to ensure alignment with changing business needs, offering insights for continuous improvement.
9. Coach and mentor stakeholders, supporting talent conversations and development planning across continent offices.
10. Remain current with industry trends, research, and technology to inform and inspire learning innovation.
11. Foster a culture of learning by building partnerships with internal and external learning partners and thought leaders.

TRAINING DELIVERY

12. Deliver high-quality training programs across EMEA Continent Offices, ensuring participant engagement, satisfaction, and practical application.
13. Manage and deliver leadership development programs, adjusting to the evolving needs of the business.
14. Facilitate learning that supports key talent development strategies and performance goals across multiple levels of the organization.
15. Support other key training delivery needs across the wider Learning and Development team.

REPORTING AND MEASUREMENT

16. Evaluate learning program effectiveness through a blend of qualitative and quantitative methods, including feedback, performance metrics, and ROI indicators.
17. Monitor relevant KPIs and business metrics to assess training impact and adapt approaches where needed.
18. Manage compliance training requirements and completion rates, partnering with stakeholders to ensure alignment and accountability.
19. Maintain and evolve the EMEA Tuition Aid policy and track its use and impact across continent offices.
20. Provide regular data-driven dashboards and reporting to key stakeholders, highlighting progress, trends, and areas of opportunity.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

21. Build strong partnerships with HR teams, business leaders, and functional stakeholders to champion a high-performance and learning culture.
22. Collaborate with peers across global Learning and Development teams to share best practices and support global alignment.
23. Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, aligning learning priorities to key business strategies and culture initiatives.
24. Represent Learning and Development in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

REQUIRED

25. Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Learning and Development, preferably within a multinational or hospitality environment.
26. Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, learning technologies, and talent development.
27. Proven experience in program development, delivery, and evaluation.
28. Experience managing cross-regional training initiatives.
29. Strong facilitation and presentation skills in both live and virtual environments.
30. Ability to travel internationally as needed.
