Business Development Director – International Sales Leadership / Global
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic International Sales Leader to spearhead our global sales growth strategy and delivery, working alongside the Sales Director. The role focuses on the defence, naval marine and related mechanical engineering sectors, managing complex multi‑million engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead global new project bookings and strategic/operational business development activities to achieve strong revenue growth.
* Manage and grow critical global key accounts delivering multi‑million revenues.
* Lead a team of global Business Development Managers: hiring, coaching, retaining high‑performing talent.
* Develop the 5‑year sales plan for new construction projects and aftermarket, including market sizing and segmentation.
* Collaborate with engineering, marketing, finance and other departments on NPD strategy and innovation.
* Work with channel partners, agents and global OEMs to expand market reach.
Qualifications
* SC clearance and experience in international defence markets (land, sea, air).
* Strong grounding in mechanical engineering.
* Previous experience in highly regulated critical engineering markets such as defence, aerospace, oil & gas, automotive etc.
* Proven track record as a corporate hunter/leader capable of developing and leading high‑performance sales teams.
* Entrepreneurial growth mindset and dynamic can‑do attitude.
* Familiarity with sales processes and pipeline development in multi‑million projects.
Salary & Benefits
* Base salary: £90,000 – £120,000
* OTE (on‑target earnings): £170,000
