As a Process Technician, you will be joining our Wastewater Treatment Team, who play a vital part in the frontline of our day-to-day maintenance of, and repairs to, water and wastewater treatment works, sludge treatment centres and pumping stations to ensure all environmental, quality and customer service standards are met, whilst meeting H&S legislation and achieving budgetary targets.
In this role you will be utilising your mechanical/electrical knowledge and experiences to ensure we remain compliant, reduce pollution and ensure that all of our sites remain operational for the benefits of our customers. You will have the scope of opportunity to innovate and introduce solutions, to create continuous improvements into existing processes.
You need not have a background in Water or Wastewater. We would welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas. This role has a focus on, compliance, technical problems solving, repairing and maintenance. If you have Petrochemical, Nuclear, or Heavy Industry background, then we would love to hear from you.
You must have:
1. Level 3 NVQ qualified (Electrical / Mechanical or Multi-Skilled) and have certification to show your qualifications.
You will be:
2. Able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of pumping station operation and the wastewater treatment process.
3. Able to demonstrate an understanding of ISO9001 procedures, and technical Mechanical or Electrical drawings.
4. Able to demonstrate an understanding of standard equipment/tools required of the speciality, and operational processes with its impacts; and manufacture simple parts.
5. A problem solver, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions, or escalating if required.
6. An excellent communicator, providing technical expertise to Internal and External contractors.
7. Resilient, adapting to the pressures of work and working in a constantly changing environment.
Your core responsibilities will be:
8. Undertaking both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms and fault finding to identify issues, fix these or escalate, planned maintenance of plant and equipment on a daily basis, installing new plant and equipment as required.
9. Coaching, training and developing staff under their supervision, including the apprenticeship programme
10. Managing projects internally; and updating the necessary company systems and databases as required accurately and promptly.
11. Carrying out inspection and tests on electrical equipment following company procedures.
12. Gaining quotations for parts, equipment or from contractors for work to be carried out, and providing self-quotations for work to be carried out, so assessment can be made against contractor prices.
13. Identify possible future risks and recommending changes in the course of their day-to-day work and to raise these for resolution as required.
14. Keeping up to date with new technology and approaches to ensure you can work with existing plant/equipment, and are able to identify opportunities to utilise new methods/approaches in your work.

You will have opportunities to earn up to £53,000 * depending on skills and experience, there will also be an opportunity to earn more with standby and overtime
