Engineer - Fracture and Fatigue Integrity Management

Location: Cambridge

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time

Job Profile: Engineer

Reference number: JR100626

Closing Date: 30/06/2025

Description of role:

TWI is a world-renowned centre of excellence in engineering, training and certification, serving industry leaders across the globe. With a heritage spanning decades, TWI has built a reputation for technical authority, innovation, and integrity in supporting the development of individuals and organisations alike.

We are seeking an engineer to join our Fracture and Fatigue Integrity Management section. The primary responsibilities involve fatigue and fracture design and consultancy services, and organising mechanical testing of materials (tensile, fatigue, fracture, crack growth, creep, etc.), using standardised and bespoke methodologies, in air and aggressive environments.

The properties and material performance characterisation derived from these testing programmes are used to support integrity management decisions for our clients, including through fitness-for-service and risk-based assessment approaches.

This role suits a mechanical engineer with an interest and ideally prior experience in mechanical testing and/or structural integrity assessment. Experience with preparing commercial proposals would be beneficial but is not essential.
