The role:
1. Client bookkeeping
2. Assisting with the management of a portfolio of clients
3. Preparation of basic company financial statements
4. Preparation of interim management accounts
5. Preparation of personal tax returns
6. Preparation of partnership accounts and returns
7. Preparation quarterly VAT returns
8. Potential to attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners
9. Assist with training of apprentices
10. Company Secretarial Duties (desirable)
11. Preparation of P11Ds (desirable)
12. Payroll experience (desirable)
13. Any other general accountancy/administrative work as required
The successful candidate:
14. 2-3 years working in an accountancy practice environment
15. Experience of Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks, Iris, Sage Business Cloud an advantage
16. Strong attention to detail
17. Excellent time management skills
18. Excellent communication skills with a good telephone manner
19. Good written and technical skills
20. Strong prioritisation and organisation skills
21. Ability to handle confidential information
22. Strong record keeping skills
23. Studying towards AAT or ACCA/ACA or have completed a relevant university degree
