Offer description

I'm delighted to be partnering with a well-established, forward-thinking manufacturing business in Hawick to recruit a driven and proactive HR Assistant.

This isn't a back-office HR role. This is a hands-on, visible position where you'll be at the heart of a busy site, supporting managers and employees in a fast-paced operational environment. You'll play a key role in shaping the employee experience and ensuring HR runs smoothly, efficiently and professionally across the business.

HR administration is a major and fundamental part of this role. You'll be responsible for keeping processes accurate, compliant and up to date, maintaining records, preparing documentation and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks. In a busy manufacturing environment, strong administration isn't optional, it's essential.

If you enjoy variety, responsibility and being part of the action, while taking real pride in structured, high-quality HR administration, this just might be the job for you.

What You'll Be Getting Stuck Into

You'll be involved in the full spectrum of day-to-day HR activity, with a strong focus on administration and process management, including:

* Monitoring and managing absence processes, ensuring records and follow-up actions are accurately maintained
* Coordinating weekly Occupational Health surveillance clinics across both sites
* Coordinating recruitment and managing candidate processes from advert to onboarding
* Supporting onboarding and delivering effective inductions
* Preparing contracts, letters and employee documentation
* Maintaining accurate HR systems and personnel records
* Providing first-line HR advice to managers
* Assisting with employee relations casework and preparing supporting documentation

This is a role where you'll build strong relationships on site, influence positive outcomes and help maintain a compliant, engaged workforce, underpinned by strong, consistent HR administration.

What You'll Bring

* Proven HR experience across recruitment, onboarding, absence management and advisory support
* Strong HR administration experience with excellent attention to detail
* The ability to manage high volumes of work while maintaining accuracy
* Strong organisational skills and confidence managing multiple priorities
* A confident communication style, able to support and guide managers
* The ability to thrive in a busy manufacturing environment
* Payroll administration experience is desirable, but not essential

What's In It For You

You'll join a stable, respected manufacturing business where HR genuinely matters. It's a chance to step into a varied role, gain real exposure across all areas of HR, and make a tangible impact locally in Hawick, while playing a critical part in maintaining robust and effective HR systems.

If you're ready for a role where you're trusted, involved, valued and where strong HR administration is recognised as the backbone of success, I'd love to speak with you.
