Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an Apprentice Cemetery Operative to join our dedicated cemetery team and support the essential work they do, while gaining valuable training and career development. This role reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in burial services, grounds maintenance, and providing compassionate customer care for the bereaved.
The position will help manage workload demands, especially during busy periods and offers a structured pathway for individuals keen to build a career in Cemetery Operations. Through hands-on experience and professional training, the apprentice will develop the skills and knowledge required to carry out this vital public service with dignity, professionalism, and respect.
As part of this role, you will work within a team of cemetery operatives across the three areas of Rhondda Cynon Taf. Each team is led by an experienced cemetery supervisor, who will provide guidance and support in every aspect of the role.
What Will You Study?
All Apprentices will be supported to complete a Level 2 qualification in Horticulture.
What will you be paid?
This is a fixed term post for a two-year period and will start in September. You will be paid National Minimum Wage dependent on age:
* 21 & over £12.21
* 18 - 20 £10.00
* Under 18 £7.55

Due to the Apprenticeship entry criteria, applications cannot be accepted from any applicant who has already gained a similar qualification at level 3 or above in the role applied for.
For example, if you have a degree in Civil Engineering you will not be eligible to apply for a Civil Engineering apprenticeship post. However, you could apply for any other apprenticeship post. Any such applications will not be considered.
