SF Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading manufacturing business based in Derby to recruit a Senior Category Buyer on a temporary contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly reputable and well-established company, providing critical procurement support to a fast-paced, commercially driven team.
This hybrid role offers flexibility with up to 2 days working from home and the chance to make a real impact in a dynamic procurement function.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement category strategies aligned with overall business objectives
Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle across multiple categories
Manage supplier relationships and performance, tracking key KPIs and driving improvements
Negotiate competitive terms, ensuring cost efficiency and value for money
Support wider business initiatives including budgeting, forecasting, and cross-functional projects
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in a Senior Buyer / Category Manager role, ideally within manufacturing or engineering
Strong commercial acumen and confident negotiating skills
Proficiency in ERP systems
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
You must be immediately available or due to finish an existing contract
Able to commit to a hybrid working arrangement with a Derby-based office
