Main duties of the job
We are looking for a part‑time (24 hours a week), permanent Social Worker to join our Fostering Support Team. Our aim in fostering is to achieve stability for our children and young people, ensuring they are supported to thrive in all areas of their lives and to reach their full potential.

We work hard to ensure that all children are in homes that meet their needs, reflect their right to safety and security, and encourage them to find and use their voice.
We provide ongoing support and supervision to Foster Carers and fostering households, ensuring children are seen regularly and their voices are captured in supervision visits.
We maintain compliance with safeguarding standards, record keeping and reporting requirements, and promote the service through events and telephone support.
This role is a hybrid post with required days in the office and other days working from home. Flexible working is available on a county‑wide basis.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities of a Fostering Social Worker include:
* Providing ongoing support and supervision to Foster Carers and fostering households.
* Supporting carers in developing therapeutic care and challenging practice as needed.
* Maintaining personal compliance: Foster Carer supervisions, Safer Caring plans, unannounced visits and fostering reviews.
* Ensuring households comply with the Fostering Services Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
* Providing written and verbal reports for fostering panels, annual reviews, stability meetings and matching reports.
* Aiding in the recruitment of Foster Carers and promoting the service through events and duty line support.
* Working holistically with internal and external colleagues, supporting service development and addressing carer retention or satisfaction issues.
* Engaging meaningfully with training and supervision for ongoing development.
About you
You are a confident and dynamic individual who enjoys making a difference, is curious in your practice and builds relationships with Carers and Children.
* Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration.
* Have the ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently.
