Specialist Acute Rotational Physiotherapist
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated physiotherapist to build on their physiotherapy skills through our Acute Band 6 Rotation. Each 6 months rotation is led by strong and supportive senior colleagues with a wealth of experience. You will be a key member in our friendly integrated therapy team and provide a skilled and responsive therapy service.
We are looking for candidates with rotational band 5 experience in a hospital-based environment, with strong communication and teamwork skills. You also need to be self-motivated, adaptable and dynamic. There may be a requirement for flexible working times on some rotations; you will also participate in the on-call and weekend rotas throughout the rotations.
We are committed to your training and development of acute specialist skills and clinical expertise and will provide opportunities to participate in training, service development, audit and clinical supervision.

The Rotations
* Medical/surgical: gain specialist experience in respiratory management of a wide variety of patients, developing skills in ITU and critical care with potential opportunities to treat paediatrics and respiratory out-patients.
* Orthopaedics: assess and treat a range of orthopaedic conditions, including repatriated patients from the major trauma centre, familiarity with specialist orthotic equipment, and potential opportunities to treat paediatric orthopaedics and discharge-ready ward patients.
* Acute Older adult Rehabilitation: develop skills in risk assessment and management of complex patients, including those with dementia, working closely with the MDT and families.
* Acute Medical Unit: develop assessment and decision-making skills in a short-stay admission unit with exposure to cardiology and front-door services.
* Frailty team: gain experience in the frailty unit and rapid access clinics, developing links with rapid response, falls team and community services.
* The Stroke unit: work with the specialist neuro team to assess and rehabilitate patients transferred from the local HSAU, developing neuro knowledge and handling skills.

Responsibilities
* Provide a skilled and responsive physiotherapy service within an integrated therapy team.
* Participate in on-call and weekend rotas as required by rotations.
* Engage in training, service development, audit and clinical supervision.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with patients and families.
