Position Summary:
The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation and fabrication of mechanical systems on-site, with a focus on piping and platework. The role involves daily coordination of mechanical crews, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. With 20 years of industry experience, the Mechanical Supervisor will serve as a key technical leader in the delivery of complex mechanical packages, reporting to the Mechanical Package Manager and liaising closely with subcontractors, engineers, and quality personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Coordination:
Direct and supervise mechanical installation works including piping, platework, and associated systems.
Coordinate daily work activities and ensure timely completion of tasks in line with the project schedule.
Act as the primary point of contact for mechanical crew leads and ensure consistent communication of project goals.
Technical Oversight:
Ensure fabrication and installation works comply with technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Support pre-fabrication planning and sequencing in alignment with site installation timelines.
Monitor workmanship quality and verify that installed systems meet Europlan and client specifications.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
Enforce strict adherence to health and safety standards and site procedures.
Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety inspections as required.
Ensure all mechanical work areas remain compliant with regulatory and environmental requirements.
Quality Assurance:
Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure proper documentation, inspections, and testing of mechanical systems.
Review and approve weld maps, fabrication logs, and test packages prior to system turnover.
Reporting & Communication:
Provide regular updates to the Mechanical Package Manager on progress, resource requirements, and technical challenges.
Maintain accurate site records including progress reports, shift logs, and material usage.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum 20 years' experience in mechanical construction and supervision, including piping and platework installation.
Strong background in mechanical fabrication, erection, and commissioning processes.
Deep understanding of isometric drawings, P&IDs, welding procedures, and material specifications.
Proven experience leading large mechanical crews on industrial, pharmaceutical, or energy sector projects.
Ability to assess mechanical risks and implement practical solutions in the field.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Familiarity with QA/QC protocols and safety legislation relevant to mechanical works.
