Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Agency Care Assistant to join our team in Newport, providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, utilising your expertise in manual handling and care assistance, with a focus on delivering person-centred care, promoting independence, and enhancing the overall well-being of service users, in a role that requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities
5. Provide personal care and support to service users, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, using manual handling techniques to ensure safe and dignified care
6. Assist with daily living activities, such as meal preparation, feeding, and medication administration, in a safe and supportive manner
7. Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and healthcare professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to care
8. Contribute to the creation and implementation of individualised care plans, tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each service user
9. Collaborate with the care team to ensure seamless delivery of care and support, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Required Skills & Experience
10. 6 months previous UK based experience as a Care Assistant, preferably in a similar setting, with a strong understanding of care principles and practices
11. Manual handling training and experience, with the ability to safely lift, move, and handle service users
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with service users, families, and healthcare professionals
13. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the service
14. Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care, with a focus on promoting independence, dignity, and well-being
