Salary: £57,464 - £64,306

We currently have a vacancy for a Curriculum Director within our Foundation Learning Directorate, based at our Yale site. Foundation Learning at Coleg Cambria offers a diverse and inclusive curriculum for Entry and Level 1 learners, allowing them to overcome any barriers to learning and start their positive learning journey at Coleg Cambria.
The Curriculum Director will provide effective management of a defined curriculum department at Coleg Cambria, meeting the needs of learners, partner schools, employers, and other stakeholders. This includes ensuring the delivery of high-quality learner outcomes and promoting a culture of excellence, inclusion, and equal opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
The Leadership responsibilities entail acting as a line manager for direct reports within the designated curriculum, handling recruitment, induction, development, performance management processes, and managing health and safety guidelines. The Curriculum Director will also identify staff development needs and contribute to the management of the local site.
In terms of Curriculum, the Director will undertake learner contact time for activities such as teaching, mentoring, events, and more. The role involves engagement with learners and stakeholders, development and delivery of efficient curriculum programmes, continuous innovation in teaching and learning practices, and liaison with employers and awarding bodies to ensure alignment with current and future needs. The Curriculum Director will also oversee the validation, inspection, and monitoring of the department by internal and external agencies.
Quality management will involve leading on curriculum quality standards, self-assessment, and quality improvement plans for the department. The Curriculum Director will coordinate quality activities and ensure adherence to the College's procedures, along with managing risks that could damage the reputation and financial viability of the college.
Financial responsibilities include the effective management of the financial and resource budget for the department. The Director will also be proactive in personal and professional development, ensure acceptable standards of behaviour for learners on each site, and undertake other relevant duties as directed.
Essential Requirements
Relevant degree or equivalent.
Teaching qualification
Management Qualification or prepared to work towards
Able to demonstrate previous experience of or the ability to lead, coach and inspire a team
Previous recent experience working within the Education sector
Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.
