An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multi-disciplinary PCNteam.
We are a well- established PCN team who are passionate about developingand delivering excellent quality local services to meet the needs of ourpatients. Our practices are keen to work with our team to support educationaldevelopment and provide mentorship.
Due to the changes in the ARRS Scheme to introduce General Practitionerswe are looking to expand our team by seeking to employ a newly qualifiedGeneral Practitioner to work alongside our practices and PCN staff.
Our PCN staff currently includes Clinical Pharmacists, Mental HealthWorkers, Social Prescribers, Paramedics, Physiotherapists, Care Coordinators,Nurse Associates and Pharmacist Technicians.
Main duties of the job
To perform as an autonomous general practitioner working independentlyand with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat theconditions of patients attending within a primary care setting.
Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleaguesand ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence.
To be professionally accountable and responsible for all elements ofclinical practice in accordance with the GMC code of conduct ensuring thesafety of patients and quality of their care is primary.
The post holder will need to be capable of independent travel across theBlackpool South area and work flexibly to meet the needs of the Business.

Blackpool South PCN is made up of four GP Practices with a weighted list size of 37,500 spread across a fairly compact urban area.
The PCN formed in 2019 with no changes to its original members to date.

Clinical responsibilities
To undertake a variety of duties including surgeryconsultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home,checking and signing/authorising repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries,paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Making professional, autonomous decisions inrelation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from otherhealth care workers within the organisation.
Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors andearly signs of illness
In consultation with patients and in line withcurrent practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
Providing counselling and health education
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultationnotes to agreed standards
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute andrepeat prescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with the practiceprescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
The post-holder will be required to visit patientsduring surgery time in an emergency if clinically indicated.
The post-holder will undertake fair share of home visits per week asallocated.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in a primary care environment Experience of continued professional development Newly Qualified General Practitioner with under 2 years from qualification Not previously been substantively employed at a GP Practice General understanding of the primary care contract
* Experience of medicines management Experience of ICB initiatives
Qualifications
* Qualified GP MRCGP General Practitioner Certificate of Completion of Training CCT Full GMC registration National Performers List registration (England), noting that confirmation on this list is adequate for DBS confirmation Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU) Evidence of current validation Evidence of last appraisal Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
