Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our clients dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs and contracts, ensuring financial efficiency, and delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control principles and the ability to manage, negotiate and administer contracts (JCT / NEC.
Duties
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial roofing projects based on detailed analysis of project specifications and drawings.
* Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial plans.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and identify any potential cost implications.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve discrepancies and ensure alignment on project objectives.
* Prepare tender documents and assist in the selection of contractors through competitive bidding processes.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects, including invoices, payments, and variations.
* Provide advice on contractual matters and assist in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Implement effective cost control measures to optimise project profitability.
Experience
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
* Proven experience in quantity surveying within the commercial roofing industry is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of cost control methodologies and practices.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, enabling accurate forecasting and reporting.
* Proficient in using relevant software tools for cost estimation and project management.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
* JCT / NEC contract administration experience
