The ORBISH Sexual Health Service is advertising a newly created Band 7 Practice Educator role. This critical function will develop and embed a high standard of practice education across sexual health, focusing on internal and external education. The role will work 22.5 hours per week, improving professional education and clinical training across Health Hubs, including GP and Pharmacy professionals.
The Practice Educator will advocate for the importance of practice education, representing the team at stakeholder meetings and prioritizing best practices. The role requires staying up-to-date with the latest guidance, taking a flexible approach to meet evolving service needs.
The Practice Educator will work closely with hub teams, outreach teams, and external stakeholders to ensure cohesion and develop a clear, evidence-based training plan that supports local training needs and identifies gaps in training knowledge.
Main Duties
* Work with the Strategic Lead to identify key partners for Sexual Health Education and Training, supporting system resilience and capacity expansion.
* Develop competency-based training in Sexual Health for Primary Care and Pharmacy providers, including LARC delivery.
* Identify educational needs and develop individualized education programs for Clinicians.
* Deliver sexual health education programs and workshops, providing accurate and evidence-based information on topics such as safe sex practices and STI prevention.
* Create and distribute educational materials on sexual health topics.
* Assess delegate competency and support the achievement of letters of competency from FSRH.
* Monitor Clinician progress and liaise with staff as necessary.
* Develop delivery of Sexual Health via outreach provision and support to community workforces.
