The Assembly Technician will be responsible for the accurate and efficient assembly and testing of electro-mechanical instruments and air bearing assemblies. The role requires an understanding of general engineering principles, mechanical tolerances, and competency in using basic measuring equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, understanding tolerances and critical dimensions.
* Assemble complex sub-assemblies and instruments, with up to 150 components on a bill of materials.
* Identify and troubleshoot faults or failures, contributing to solutions and continuous improvement.
* Maintain cleanliness and precision in assemblies to ensure success during testing.
* Work efficiently with attention to quality and output improvement.
* Follow all health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in an engineering or assembly environment.
* Background in electro-mechanical assembly preferred.
* Knowledge of CNC machining, manual turning, and sheet metal processes.
* Experience using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometer, digital caliper).
* Skills in manual lathe operation and toolmaking (for one-off and bulk orders).
* Experience with inspection tools and quality assurance standards.
