Pastoral Lead
Location: Walsall, Secondary School
Start Date: ASAP/ After Easter Half Term
Pay Rate: £150-£170 (dependent on experience)
Teaching Personnel is supporting a well-regarded secondary school in the Walsall area seeking an experienced and compassionate Pastoral Lead to join their pastoral support team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about student wellbeing, behaviour support, and building strong, positive relationships with young people.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students both academically and personally, ensuring they remain engaged in their education and receive the guidance they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor student attendance and ensure students are attending and engaging in lessons
Support teaching staff with student behaviour and professional conduct concerns
Work closely with students to provide pastoral care and guidance
Act as a trusted adult and listening ear for students experiencing challenges
Liaise with parents and carers when required to support student wellbeing and behaviour
Help maintain a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment across the school
Collaborate with teaching staff and senior leaders to support student progress and engagement
Person Specification:
The school is looking for a candidate who:
Has previous experience in a pastoral, behaviour, safeguarding or student support role
Has experience working within a secondary school environment.
Is confident communicating with students, parents, and teaching staff.
Has the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people.
Demonstrates a calm, compassionate and approachable manner.
Is proactive in supporting students to overcome barriers to learning
Has strong organisational and interpersonal skills
