Optical Assistant
So, you're a proactive people person ready to be the friendly face our stores need? Sounds like you'd be a great fit here. So, if you've had previous optical experience as an Optical Advisor or Dispensing Assistant, this Optical Assistant role could be perfect for you.
However, if you are new to optice but have previously worked in past paced retail environments we will consider your application. As an Optical Assistant, you'll use your passion for the Specsavers brand, products and services alongside your incredible customer service skills, to create an outstanding store environment for both our customers and our team.
You will benefit from ongoing support and development to achieve your Cert 1 to Cert 4 and more for those career minded among you.
Our store
Based in Preston, our store is looking for someone for the long term with previous optical experience that can dispense up to Multi focal, or somebody with passion, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Please note that currently we are unable to offer a Pre-Reg programme for applicants due to graduate BSc (Hons) in Optometry.

What we're looking for?
If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Optical Assistant. These include:
* Previous optical experience as an Optical Advisor or Dispensing Assistant
* Those without experience must have a background in fast paced retail environments
* A good standard of education A level is preferable specifically Science subjects
* Passion for providing excellent customer service and making customers' lives easier
* Strong verbal communication skills
* Great teamwork
* A good initiative
* Confidence in using IT systems
* Excellent communication and listening skills
* Prepared to step out of your comfort zone and try something new
* Able to receive feedback and be open to development, knowing we'll be there to support and guide you throughout your process (with your openness and our guidance, your opportunities will be endless).
