This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Lifting Engineer, you will take ownership of the planning and delivery of complex lifting operations within one of the UK’s most significant nuclear construction projects.
This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week and based at our Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset site.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
Producing detailed lift plans, procedures and coordination studies for complex operationsSelecting appropriate lifting methods, cranes and equipment to meet safety and project requirementsEnsuring compliance with nuclear safety standards, legislation and site-specific proceduresBriefing lifting teams and supervisors to ensure full understanding of plans and safe systems of workIdentifying hazards, resolving constraints and supporting safe, integrated delivery across site activitiesEssential experience of the Lifting Engineer:
Holding significant experience producing lift plans within major construction or infrastructure projectsDemonstrating strong knowledge of lifting operations, rigging and crane planningApplying a thorough understanding of health, safety and compliance standards in high-risk environmentsCommunicating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and site stakeholdersCoordinating activities and prioritising workload within complex project environmentsQualifications for the Lifting Engineer:
CPCS Appointed Person (A61) Blue Card NVQ Level 3 in steel erecting or moving loads Security Clearance
