As an FMO Appliance Maintenance Supervisor in our Defence team, you’ll lead the safe and efficient delivery of furniture and appliance services, supporting servicemen and women across the UK. Your work ensures essential items are delivered, maintained and managed reliably – helping people feel at home, wherever they’re based. You’ll play a key role in creating a positive impact on communities by keeping vital services running smoothly. From leading a team to ensuring compliance and safety, your work will directly support operational readiness and wellbeing.
What you’ll do as an FMO Appliance Maintenance Supervisor
* Lead and supervise a team, ensuring daily tasks are delivered efficiently and safely.
* Coordinate appliance maintenance and furniture delivery schedules with MOD and stakeholders.
* Plan and manage vehicle runs, ensuring compliance with driving regulations and transport audits.
* Oversee health and safety standards, including COSHH and incident reporting.
* Manage stock, ordering parts, consumables and maintenance supplies.
* Support team development through inductions, training, performance reviews and absence management.
Qualifications
* Experience leading or supervising a team, including performance management and training.
* A full clean driving licence and experience with regular driving responsibilities.
* Knowledge of appliance maintenance, including white goods and basic electrical work.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with colleagues and customers.
* A proactive, organised approach with the ability to adapt and solve problems.
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. Depending on the nature of the role, you may also need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC). UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
