Clinical Role Summary: This post provides a client-centred and evidence-based assessment, treatment and discharge planning to a caseload of adults with varied and often complex MSK needs. The caseload may include equipment fitting for example Aircast boots, crutches and braces. You will receive referrals from consultant and GP clinics as well as from insurance companies, self-referrals and other external routes. Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical 1.
To be responsible for the physiotherapy management of the patient load assigned to you and to practise as an accountable professional using reflective practise and clinical reasoning in undertaking specialist assessment in order to provide individualised treatment programmes for each patient. 2. To obtain informed, valid consent on an ongoing basis which endeavours to keep them involved in their own health care plan. This includes education to support ongoing management.
1. To provide programmes of care for the MSK patients in your care through assessment and implementation of specialist MSK treatments in order to maximise their rehabilitation outcomes. 4. To advocate for your patients in the multi-disciplinary team.
2. To provide appropriate information, education and support for your client group and their carers. 6. To comply with confidentiality policies as set out by Cromwell Hospital, HCPC and the CSP.
3. To respect a patients right to be chaperoned and appropriately implement the hospital chaperone policy. 8. To accept accountability for your clinical and non-clinical actions.
4. To maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely patient treatment records, participating in clinical audit. 10. To manage clinical risk within your caseload at all times and ensure potential clinical risk is effectively communicated and managed.
5. To promote dignity, privacy and safety at all times, with particular consideration of the patients cultural, spiritual and personal needs and preferences. 12. To maintain the highest standards of professional expertise and efficiency.
