A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join a growing delivery team working across high-profile utility and infrastructure projects in the South East.
With decades of success delivering complex schemes across water, transport, energy and the built environment, this privately owned contractor has built an outstanding reputation for long-term project delivery, technical excellence and investing heavily in its people. The Opportunity
You’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of civil engineering schemes, managing site operations, supporting project delivery and ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and within budget.
This position offers exposure to challenging infrastructure projects involving utilities, deep excavations, temporary works and complex construction activities within regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
Managing day-to-day site operations and supporting overall project delivery - coordinating subcontractors, engineers and site teams - driving health, safety, environmental and quality standards on site - monitoring programme performance, costs and commercial targets - producing site documentation, reports and as-built records - leading site meetings and liaising with clients and stakeholders - supporting planning, risk management and temporary works coordination - ensuring projects are delivered defect-free and to specification
What We’re Looking For
Strong civil engineering background within utilities or infrastructure - experience delivering projects under NEC contracts - knowledge of CDM regulations, cost control and programme management - experience with deep excavations and temporary works - utilities or water sector experience, ideally within Thames Water frameworks - degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) - SMSTS and CSCS certification - NEBOSH or IOSH qualification - full UK driving licence - excellent leadership and communication skills
Desirable
Temporary Works Coordinator - Thames Water experience - service avoidance or confined space training - working towards professional chartership - Appointed Person CPCS
