Security Support Officer – Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services, Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Pay: £13 per hour. Current SIA licence required. Must be able to cover days, nights and weekends, and also be available for retail and corporate security as needed. Ongoing company training via eLearning. Free company uniform.
Job Overview
* Protect customer’s property, people and assets by providing security services in accordance with Assignment Instructions.
* Deliver results that meet or exceed key performance indicators / Service Level Agreements to aid in contract retention.
* Undertake additional training for continuous development.
Main Duties – Operations
* Ensure compliance with policies, legal and regulatory requirements, UK law and guidance.
* Fully complete all tasks defined within Assignment Instructions.
* Review Assignment Instructions for changes and suggest amendments.
* Maintain required licences (front‑line/security guarding or door supervision and CCTV PSS SIA Licence).
* Comply with safety requirements of the role.
* Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessary challenges.
* Work systematically and orderly.
Main Duties – Training
* Complete all required competency training.
* Participate in ongoing training directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop expertise through continuous professional development.
* Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Main Duties – Security and Health & Safety
* Identify and report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes to reduce disruption, loss, or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct with difficult customers.
* Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries after incidents.
* Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at allocated times as per Assignment Instructions.
* Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

* Previous security experience.
* SIA Licence.
* SC Clearance desirable.
