The Role
As an Associate Scientist, you will support the development of advanced radar and signal processing technologies that directly enhance UK Defence capability.
Your Responsibilities
* Developing and optimising models and simulations for radar and signal processing applications
* Applying scientific and mathematical methods to analyse data and interpret results
* Designing and assessing algorithms and waveform concepts
* Supporting research and development activities across multi‑disciplinary projects
* Documenting technical findings and presenting results to a range of audiences
Essential Experience
* Strong scientific and analytical background in physics, mathematics or related disciplines
* Experience applying modelling, simulation or data analysis techniques
* Coding experience in MATLAB, Python, C++ or similar
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
* Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking capability
* Clear communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Maths or a related STEM subject, or equivalent experience
Job details: 37 hours per week based at Portsdown Technology Park, Portsmouth. Hybrid working patterns are available.
