We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 within a primary school setting. This role involves working across different classes as required, supporting teaching and learning, delivering planned interventions, and helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support teaching and learning across KS1 and KS2 classrooms.
• Deliver learning activities and interventions to individuals, small groups, and whole classes where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support pupil progress and attainment.
• Provide targeted support for pupils with varying learning needs, including those requiring additional support.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement.
• Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Provide classroom cover when required in line with HLTA responsibilities.
Candidate Requirements
2. Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
• A good understanding of the primary curriculum across KS1 and KS2.
• HLTA status or relevant experience working at HLTA level is desirable.
• Experience supporting children with additional learning needs is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Confidence leading learning activities and supporting whole-class learning when required.

• Location: Swanscombe
• Start Date: September 2026
• Working Pattern: 2 days per week (preferably Thursdays and Fridays, although flexibility may be considered)
• Salary: Paid on a pro-rata basis on KSD Scale (Full-Time Equivalent Salary: £27,904)
