An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Visual and Performing Arts department of Rotherham College, supporting the Media and Photography department. You will join a team of Technicians to provide support to learners and staff within the area.
Your duties will include delivering outstanding teaching and learning, managing the equipment store to ensure classes have the relevant kit, supporting students with loaning items for independent study, and assisting with the preparation of learning spaces such as the Darkroom and TV studio. Additionally, you will support other areas of Visual and Performing Arts and the wider organisation, offering advice on equipment purchases and technical support.
As a Technician in Media and Photography, you should have previous experience with video recording, photography, and editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop or Premiere), and ideally, knowledge of using a Photography Darkroom. You must hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake) and a Level 3 vocational qualification in media or photography.
You will report directly to the Senior Technician and work as part of a broader technical support team within the department. The role offers excellent benefits, including access to a local government pensions scheme, gym and restaurant discounts, staff health & wellbeing schemes, flexible working hours, parking, and career development opportunities such as funding for teacher training and apprenticeships.
