Macmillan Occupational Therapist – Band 6/5 Development Role
Cornhill Macmillan Centre, Perth Royal Infirmary
Salary Scale Band 6: £41,608 - £50,702 per annum pro rata
Salary Scale Band 5: £33,247 - £41,424 per annum pro rata
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Macmillan Occupational Therapist to work in Perth & Kinross Occupational Therapy Service based at the Cornhill Macmillan Centre, Perth Royal Infirmary.
The post holder will be expected to undertake assessments of occupational performance, using standardised assessments and individual interventions as appropriate. You will work as an integrated member of the Palliative Care Services Team and will be expected to contribute to the development of this Service.
Candidates who do not meet the Band 6 Macmillan OT criteria are welcome to apply for the development role and will be fully supported to undertake the required training to develop the competence and confidence to work as a Band 6 Macmillan OT. It is an expectation that you will successfully achieve the required skills within a year of appointment.
You should possess a keen interest in Palliative Care, excellent communication skills and be a positive and resourceful team member in a multi‑disciplinary setting.
In line with the evidence base and the strategic direction of NHS Tayside, the Allied Health Professions will be moving towards 7 day working. This is for improved outcomes and to maximise a person‑centred equitable approach to care. Therefore all new contracts for AHP staff will be for a 5 out of 7 day service/rota to enable the service to be ready to move to a safe and effective 7 day service.
Perth and Kinross Occupational Therapy Service provides excellent formal and informal supervision, actively supports individual development through performance development review and learning plans, provides a framework for encouraging CPD and promotes innovative practice.
