Job Title: Social Worker - Assessment Team
Location: North Tyneside Council, North Tyneside
North Tyneside Council is seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join their dynamic Assessment Team. As a Social Worker in this team, you will conduct assessments for children, young people, and their families, working collaboratively to ensure they receive the right support at the right time. You will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team, committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families in North Tyneside.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of children, young people, and their families
2. Develop and implement effective care plans in collaboration with other professionals
3. Ensure timely and appropriate interventions to safeguard and support vulnerable individuals
4. Work closely with partner agencies, including health, education, and housing services
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with North Tyneside Council's policies and procedures
6. Participate in regular supervision and ongoing professional development opportunities
Essential Criteria
7. Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England
8. Proven experience in a social work role, preferably within a local authority assessment team
9. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004
10. Excellent assessment and analytical skills
11. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
12. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
13. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families
