Method Resourcing are delighted to partner with an independent fuel & oil business, who serve a range of domestic, agricultural, and enterprise sectors. They operate over 75 depots and 800+ tankers. This client are looking to add a talented Data & ML Engineer to join their team as they enjoy a sustained period of growth.
What you'll do:
* Take ownership of the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, Warehouses), leading the transition from legacy platforms
* Design, build, and optimise automated data pipelines, ensuring strong CI/CD practices, cost efficiency, and reliability
* Oversee enterprise BI platforms (Power BI, Qlik), managing semantic models, performance tuning, and automated refresh processes
* Support ML/AI initiatives by developing feature pipelines, enabling MLOps, and driving model deployment with Azure AI/ML/OpenAI
* Establish and maintain data quality, lineage, governance, and GDPR compliance across all data
* assets
* Lead, mentor, and grow a data engineering team while partnering closely with product, BI, data science, and business stakeholders
Experience required:
* Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lake, PySpark, Python, SQL, and modern ETL/ELT frameworks, alongside CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps or GitHub
* Hands-on expertise integrating Azure AI/ML/OpenAI, with knowledge of real-time data streaming technologies such as Event Hub and Kafka
* Proven capability in enterprise BI environments (Power BI, Qlik), MLOps practices, and Azure cloud architecture design
* Demonstrated team leadership skills, with relevant certifications such as DP-203 or Fabric Analytics Engineer
