The overall purpose of the role is to: provide Subject Access (Data Protection Act), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Freedom of Information (FOI), expertise to ensure legislative compliance surrounding Information Rights. To enable the delivery of our legal requirements under legislation and in accordance with the information management strategy, policy and procedures across both forces, ensuring that the Chief Constable’s statutory obligations are effectively and lawfully discharged. Requirements: * Excellent problem solving skills including the ability to understand customer concerns, work within ‘shades of grey’ and objectively assess risk and recommend pragmatic responses. * Ability to influence people who may not share your views or priorities to find acceptable decisions and mitigations to FOI and data protection right of access issues. * Ability to independently manage a full caseload of Public Access work with minimal supervision with limited quality assurance on FOI cases and taking on more complex related requests which are likely to have a greater impact on the organisation and our reputation. Using own initiative when problem solving, making sound risk based decisions whilst managing reputational risks effectively.
