STV News is looking for a Production Journalist to join our team. This role will contribute to output across platforms, including TV and radio, our website and social channels.
The key responsibilities include on-air presenting, the production of scripts and news articles, and supporting delivery of news services, including sport coverage, across platforms.
The presentation and production of live and pre-recorded TV and radio news bulletins is a core part of the role, as is newsgathering and live reporting for planned and breaking news stories for our radio services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Present live and pre-recorded news and sports bulletins for TV, radio and for social as clips.
* Research, write and produce stories across platforms with strong editorial judgment ensuring all content meets editorial standards and regulatory guidelines.
* Edit audio and video packages, prepare scripts, and source content for live and recorded segments.
* Write digital articles with a focus on accuracy, accessibility, and speed.
* Work closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality output across platforms.
* Conduct interviews and deliver content with clarity, authority, and audience engagement.
* Represent the newsroom during events and outside broadcasts.
* Actively contribute to editorial discussions and story planning.
* Monitor news wires and social media to ensure timely reporting of news and developments.
* Contribute to wider output such as podcasts as required.
* Assist in any other aspects of work of the company as reasonably required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Demonstrable experience of researching, writing and producing editorial content for on-air broadcast.
* Proven track record of regular on-air bulletin presenting of live or recorded content for TV and/or radio broadcast.
* Demonstrable experience of writing and scripting stories, applying robust editorial judgment and knowledge of media law and regulations.
* Proven experience of covering live news events and/or working on news.
* Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of studio operations and live production.
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of the UK news landscape and key stories for Scotland.
* Proven track record of video and audio editing experience using AVID and Adobe Premiere.
* Evidence of using CMS systems for producing and publishing digital content.
* Experience of contributing to podcast production is desirable.
* A full clean drivers license is essential.
