Pay and Policy Lead

Join a leading local authority as a Pay and Policy Lead where you will lead strategic HR initiatives to enhance organisational capability and modernise HR services. This role offers excellent benefits and a dynamic work environment in an office located near the iconic Wembley Stadium.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Lead and deliver key HR projects that strengthen HR services, people management capability, and workforce performance.
* Provide assurance on pay governance, including oversight of various pay allowances and conducting pay audits to ensure compliance and equity.
* Develop and implement a comprehensive pay, reward, and benefits strategy aligned with organisational priorities.
* Oversee the job evaluation processes and maintain a central repository of evaluated roles to ensure consistency and fairness.
* Develop, review, and implement HR policies, ensuring they promote wellbeing, engagement, and legal compliance.
* Manage the employee relations framework and maintain constructive relationships with unions.
* Provide expert HR advice, guidance, and training to HR Business Partners, Advisors, and managers.
* Benchmark employment terms and benefits to support recruitment, retention, and reward strategies.
* Promote and embed equality, diversity, and inclusion across all HR policies and practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* CIPD Level 7 (or working towards), with evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Extensive experience in strategic HR management, employment law, and organisational development.
* Proven ability to lead complex HR projects and deliver improvements in a large or complex organisation.
* Strong experience working collaboratively with unions on complex matters.
* Skilled in analysing and presenting complex information and producing high-quality advice, reports, and policy documents.
* Deep knowledge of pay and reward frameworks, including pay structures, allowances, and benefits.
* Experience managing or overseeing job evaluation processes, ensuring consistency, equity, and governance.
* Strong communication, influencing, and coaching skills, capable of building trusted relationships across all levels.
* Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and design innovative HR solutions.
