As a Care Leaver Personal Advisor in our Refugee Service, you’ll join a dynamic and creative team dedicated to supporting separated children, unaccompanied minors, and care leavers seeking safety in the UK, as well as families with No Recourse to Public Funds. This is an opportunity to make a real difference – not only to our service but to the lives of young people building a new life in the UK.
You’ll play a vital role in helping young people transition from care into adulthood, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and empowered. From initial arrival and assessments through to navigating the asylum process and planning for independence, you’ll act as a trusted point of contact and advocate, helping care leavers access essential services, overcome challenges, and thrive in their new lives.
What you’ll do:
1. Provide consistent, culturally sensitive and trauma-informed support to refugee and asylum-seeking care leavers.
2. Work in partnership to assess needs and create personalised Pathway Plans that reflect their goals, strengths, and vulnerabilities.
3. Support access to legal advice, health services, education, training, and employment opportunities.
4. Assist with securing safe accommodation and understanding financial entitlements.
5. Collaborate with carers, families, and partner agencies to identify needs and contribute to service development....
