Who are we looking for
Due to a long-term serving member of our team retiring, Freightliner is looking for a Locomotive Fleet controller to manage the short and long term planning and execution of our locomotive fleet maintenance. You will be based with our control team in Ferrybridge to enable great collaborative working whilst co ordinating with our maintenance depots to enable us to deliver our train service plan. You will need to be an excellent communicator and driven to deliver results whilst ensuring our high safety and efficiency standards are met whilst.
On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:
1. A mindset of “Safety First” and instil an ethos of continual safety and productivity improvement within your areas of responsibility;
2. Work confidently under own initiative with the ability to report accurately on your requirements and deliverables.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff across the Freightliner UK/Europe region including both written and verbal.
4. Have the ability to multitask and work well under pressure, prioritising tasks and workload and managing conflicting demands by navigating complex problems and ensuring effective and sound decision making, systematically and under pressure;
5. Be able to build healthy working relationships with business stakeholders while exhibiting independence and objectivity in thought and action
What will be your responsibilities:
6. Ensure company maintenance policies and standards for scheduled maintenance are adhered to
7. Day to Day engagement and action with depots and control to ensure we have enough locomotives to meet requirement and that maintenance and repair assignments are being met
8. Ensure all reported defects are actioned
9. Manage the short maintenance plan for our class 90 and 66 locomotives
10. Own the long-term locomotive maintenance plans
11. Lead the planning calls, analysing open work orders, locomotive dwell time, mileage etc.
12. Manage our concession process
13. Host the morning engineering production call.
