As part of our continued growth, we are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Primary Teacher (Maternity Cover) to join our close‑knit team at Bramfield House School in Suffolk. You will work as part of the ‘One Team’ to support the everyday education and care of young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. Your role will include planning, organising and delivering the curriculum relevant to your key stage and subject area to meet pupils’ individual special education needs, working in a trans‑disciplinary capacity to link academic and social‑emotional progress in line with individual learning needs, and practising with a high degree of competence to reduce barriers to learning and enable all pupils to achieve their potential.
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and learning programmes based on the National Curriculum and specific accreditation requirements, tailored to pupils’ EHCPs.
* Maintain stimulating learning environments through engaging teaching strategies, display of pupil work, level descriptors and in‑/out‑of‑class activities to encourage participation.
* Maintain accurate records and prepare reports to monitor and manage individual and group progress in line with statutory and accreditation requirements.
* Set and monitor targets for achievement and behaviour in conjunction with key staff members, reflecting individual pupil needs and overall school progression targets.
* Work proactively and positively with pupils and staff, collaborating across a multi‑disciplinary team to meet individual pupil needs.
* Supervise and work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants to optimise pupil behaviour, learning outcomes and progress.
* Liaise with year‑level or subject teams to ensure a coordinated approach to planning, assessment and pupil progress.
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is required.
