Overview
We are seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services for HVAC, refrigeration, and chiller systems on a static client site. This role is critical to ensuring all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant regulations and ISS standards. The successful candidate will support both planned and reactive maintenance activities, providing reliable building services performance while promoting safe systems of work and excellent customer service. You will work closely with clients and colleagues to maintain optimal environmental conditions and uphold the highest standards of technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive repairs on HVAC, refrigeration, and chiller systems.
* Diagnose faults and repair compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and associated components.
* Service, test, and adjust boilers, ventilation systems, and air‑handling units.
* Perform skilled electrical tasks on HVAC systems, including motors, controls, and wiring.
* Rebuild or repair semi‑hermetic compressors and centrifugal chiller components.
* Install and calibrate HVAC equipment, including pipework, copper tubing, valves, and safety devices.
* Conduct boiler water quality tests and apply appropriate treatment.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports in line with company procedures.
* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, ISS standards, and building codes.
* Monitor and coordinate contractors, issuing Permits to Work where required.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in HVAC and refrigeration maintenance.
* City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
* City & Guilds 2079 Refrigerant Handling certification.
* Knowledge of CO2 refrigerant systems and standard HVAC practices.
* Strong understanding of HVAC and refrigeration theory.
* Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
