Shift Pattern: Continental Shift - Days & Nights
* 7am - 7pm
* 7pm - 7am
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical bias) to join a well-established and highly reputable FM provider, working on a prestigious data centre in Welwyn Garden City .
This is an excellent opportunity for a Level 3 qualified engineer looking for long-term stability, strong earning potential, and career progression within a company that actively promotes from within.
Key Responsibilities
* Working as part of a dedicated on-site engineering team
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance
* Managing PPM schedules, logbooks, and statutory compliance
* Ensuring critical systems are maintained to a high standard in a data centre environment
* PPM tasks to include (but not limited to):
* Emergency lighting
* Fire alarm systems
* General lighting
* AHUs & FCUs
* Plant room inspections
* Associated building services equipment
Requirements
Mechanical or Electrical qualifications (Level 3 essential):
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical Installations, Mechanical Engineering, or Plumbing OR
* City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Electrical Installations, Mechanical Engineering, or Plumbing
Electrical bias only:
* 18th Edition (essential)
* 2391 Testing & Inspection (desirable)
Ideal Candidate
* Mechanical or Electrical bias with a strong building services background
* Comfortable working in a critical environment (data centre experience advantageous)
* Client-facing and professional in approach
* Well-organised with strong compliance awareness
* Experience on healthcare or critical-site contracts is beneficial but not essential
