Raw Materials QA
Humdinger, Sherburn in Elmet, LS25 6PJ
Position type: Temporary, Full-time (Fixed term contract ending January 2026)
Hours: 37.5
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 0830 - 1630
Pay range: £24,768 /annum
Breaks: 30 minutes
Responsibilities
1. Oversee daily deliveries to ensure all materials received on-site are assessed for compliance.
2. Regularly review the embargo list and ensure materials are cleared from embargo promptly.
3. Perform necessary testing on raw materials to confirm they meet required standards and are fit for use, including certifications, supplier approvals, size and shelf life checks, viscosity tests, weigh checks, and micro-sampling.
4. Ensure scheduled micro-sampling is completed and provide results to demonstrate due diligence across all raw materials.
5. Compare and sign off test results against required standards, such as customer micro limits and raw material specifications.
6. Follow escalation procedures for out-of-specification results, ensuring corrective actions and retesting are properly executed and documented.
7. Report issues to Operations and Technical Teams and support corrective actions to ensure timely resolution.
8. Assist the Analytical Services team with lab testing when needed.
9. Draft and revise procedures as required.
10. Ensure proper segregation and controls within the warehouse are in line with risk assessments.
11. Conduct internal audits of warehouse areas to ensure compliance.
12. Review COP requirements for key customers.
13. Perform additional tasks to ensure smooth operation of responsibilities.
14. Participate in project work as required.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Strong proficiency in English and Mathematics
* Knowledge of pest control, supported by relevant training
* Solid understanding of GMP standards
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to perform effectively under pressure
* Experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
* Level 3 HACCP certification
* Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification
* Training in Segregation and Integrity
* Experience with COP reviews
* Proven track record in reducing complaints
