Software Dev Engineer-II, Publisher Tools
The Kindle Publishing Tools (PubTools) team owns the self-service content creator tools. Our vision is to enable all content creators to prepare and publish their work to Kindle in a fast, easy, and low-cost manner, providing the widest selection of high-quality books with unique Kindle features for our customers. Our product portfolio includes Kindle Create (KC), Kindle Previewer (KPR), Online Previewer (OPR) (integrated with KDP), Kindle Comic Book Creator (KC2), and Kindle Kids Book Creator (KKBC).
As part of the team, you will invent, design, and develop end-to-end products to make the book creation experience simpler and of higher quality.
Key job responsibilities
* Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazon teams to conceive, design, and deliver innovative products and services to customers.
* Design and implement system architecture and underlying components, establish design principles, select design patterns, and promote best practices for software development across multiple teams.
* Anticipate bottlenecks, make trade-offs, and balance business needs with technical constraints.
* Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
* 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
* 3+ years supporting title development, release, or live operations in the Video Games Industry.
* 3+ years programming in a modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, with object-oriented design experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 3+ years of experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
