Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team at HMP Stocken. HMP Stocken is a category C training prison housing around 1056 patients, the majority aged between 21-40 years. You will be working closely with the multidisciplinary team comprising mental health nurses, social workers, healthcare support workers and admin staff to deliver support to adult males with complex mental health and trauma needs. Hours are 20 hours per week across 2.5 days with flexibility around times and days to meet the needs of the successful candidate and the service. We also have opportunities at other establishments in the region to uplift to full-time hours if required.

This position is 20 hours per week; you will receive an annual salary up to £186,480 per annum FTE depending on experience. The Health in Justice team at Practice Plus Group makes a real difference across over 53 prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres.
Responsibilities
* Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the caseload onsite.
* Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision.
* Work within the multidisciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi-professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications
* Registered professional with current GMC registration
* Specialist Registration in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
* Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983
* Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
* Up-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry
* Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
* Candidates are required to have the legal right to work in the UK; offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks
