What will you be doing?
Smith+Nephew’s Corporate Account Management (CAM) Team is a key driver for sustainable and profitable growth across the established markets in Europe and Asia/Pacific. The team leads Smith+Nephew’s collaboration with strategic accounts such as the NHS and private hospital groups in the independent sector, managing senior customer relationships and capturing business opportunities across the business through large tenders, deals and strategic projects.
Our Corporate Account Manager looks after the UK, Ireland and Nordic region. The CAM closely collaborates with cluster Business Unit (BU) Directors and their leadership teams as well as functional leaders in Finance, Legal, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service and Market Access.
This role develops corporate account plans for major accounts in private healthcare groups and the NHS to analyse key decision-makers and evaluate sales potential and contractual opportunities. They develop positive relationships with clinical and procurement leaders in order to maintain and promote sales performance and understand our customer's needs and priorities.
Working with our BU directors the CAM works end to end, leading tender submissions, successful deal negotiations and pricing strategies and contract creation. They take ownership of win/loss-bid analyses working nationally and internationally where required. Once contracts are in place, they prepare and leads strategic customer meetings to ensure that profitability is maximised and to identify where we can build strategic partnerships in focus areas such as orthopaedic robotics.
What does success look like?
Success in this role is simply based on revenue and customer relationships. We would like to see someone who can think creatively to find solutions that are mutually beneficial to S+N and our customers.
Successful candidates would need the following:
1. Degree educated
2. 5-10 years experience in sales/marketing or commercial management, ideally in the medical devices industry.
3. Knowledge of the UK and Irish healthcare market including the NHS tender process.
4. As well as being an excellent relationship builder, they will have strong influencing skills and the ability to influence others, self awareness and the courage to challenge the status quo.
5. This is a hybrid role, based 50% of the time in Watford.
