Your Role
As our SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading the strategic development of SEN policy and provision.
* Designing and delivering targeted interventions to bridge attainment gaps.
* Monitoring pupil progress in line with their EHCPs.
* Conducting annual reviews and acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
* Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support individual learning plans.
* Coordinating day-to-day SEN operations and maintaining accurate records.
* Providing guidance on effective teaching programs and behavior management strategies.
* Leading intervention groups and evaluating their effectiveness.
* Ensuring smooth transitions for pupils moving to or from our school.
* Teaching commitment (50/50) with a preference for secondary teaching experience, ideally in Science.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
* Qualified Teacher Status.
* National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to pursue the new NPQ for SENCOs.
* Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
* Background in teaching within an autism/SEMH school.
* Experience in delivering training and leading INSET.
* A solid understanding of the SEND Code of Conduct.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development.
