The Key responsibilities of the Head Chef:
* Leading a small kitchen team and managing daily operations
* Creating varied, nutritious menus that cater to residents dietary needs
* Ensuring all meals are prepared and presented to a high standard
* Maintaining kitchen hygiene and equipment
* Managing stock levels, ordering supplies and keeping within budget
* Supporting training and development of kitchen staff
* Managing staff rotas and providing cover for absences
* Liaising with colleagues, residents, and suppliers to ensure smooth service
The ideal head chef would have/be:
* Experience in a similar role, ideally within a care or healthcare environment
* Strong understanding of food hygiene standards and relevant regulations
* Confident managing a team and prioritising tasks
* Organised, reliable, and passionate about delivering quality food
