Teaching Assistant – Level 2/3 (Upper Key Stage 2)
1:1 Support for Child with Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs
Contract Hours: 37 hours per week (term time plus PD days) – temporary
Level 2 salary - £21,806 pro rata – 195 days
Level 3 salary - £24,401 pro rata – 195 days

Barley Fields Primary School is seeking a caring, proactive and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis in the first instance. This role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child in Upper Key Stage 2 with social and emotional difficulties.
We are looking for someone who:
1. Can build a trusting, positive relationship with the child, helping to develop their confidence, resilience and independence.
2. Has the initiative, patience and emotional intelligence to respond to the child’s individual needs.
3. Can work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider staff team to implement supportive strategies.
4. Brings a warm personality, a calm approach and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Essential requirements:
5. Relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or Level 3).
6. Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (desirable).
7. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
